We are proud to announce the launch of our new smartphone fitting app, meaning you can now get fitted for a bespoke cycling helmet from the comfort of your own home. How does it work?
The smartphone fitting app utilizes the latest methods in Machine Vision to capture over 250,000 data points of a customer’s head shape. The app uses the most accurate 3D scanning technology available on a smartphone, able to measure details finer than a grain of rice in size, meaning a HEXR helmet not only fits perfectly, but provides total comfort.
How easy is it to do?
The app utilizes augmented reality to guide you through the fitting process – making it fun, easy and intuitive to complete. Once you’ve received your fitting cap through the post and downloaded the app (accessible on iOS 13 onwards), you just need to ask a friend to help you hold the phone and complete the steps. Five minutes later, the fitting will be complete, and you will be one step closer to getting your bespoke helmet.
What happens next?
Once the fitting is complete, the team at HEXR will review the data. The custom data is then sent to a leading 3D printing factory based in the UK to be additively manufactured into a helmet, assembled, quality checked and delivered within five weeks.
We will keep you in the loop throughout the process too. Once we’ve reviewed your fitting, we also send it back to you to view – including metrics such as head size, weight and percentile. You can also check the status of your order in real-time throughout the app.
