HEXR is well-known for its 3D printed, custom-fit, honeycomb cycling helmets. In our pursuit to develop the best head protection, we have become a fast-growing R&D organisation with expertise in engineering and design.
We are looking for an in-house workshop technician with industry experience, to use and maintain our workshop machinery as well as aid in directing the growth of our internal prototyping capabilities. As part of our R&D processes, we regularly prototype various components associated with our helmets, we have been bringing various processes in house and have reached a point where the equipment we’re operating requires a dedicated and experienced individual.
The successful candidate will join a team of skilled & experienced engineers and designers, in which you will have the opportunity to tangibly shape the future of HEXR, and of head protection, as we continue to develop our industry-leading technologies.
Key responsibilities:
- Operating and maintaining our:
- Yaskawa robot arm / CNC router to produce helmet shells
- Formech thermoforming machine and oven
- Screen printer
- Laser cutter
- Vinyl plotter
- FDM 3D printers
- Standard woodworking equipment
- Vacuum and silicone casting processes
- Help sourcing workshop equipment
- Creating CAM toolpaths from our 3D Data
- Organising the workflow, managing the workshop’s material stock and keeping the workshop tidy.
- Excellent knowledge of conventional workshop machines and tools.
Requirements:
Essential
- 3+ year workshop experience
- A good knowledge of typical workshop machinery and tools
- Ability to work on site at the Hexr Lab (E3 3TZ)
Nice to have
- Health and safety knowledge and certifications
- Experience in supplier management

- 0.5-1h take home technical task.
- Meet the team at the lab, a much more detailed introduction to the R&D being carried out.
